Personally, I wouldn't remove my ~/.mozilla directory without first making a back up of at least cookies.txt, bookmarks.html, and prefs.js, but most of the instructions are good. You can pick and choose the pieces, for example, I have both Evolution and Thunderbird installed, where the instructions say to remove Evolution. If you don't need to connect to an MS Exchange server, I'd agree with uninstalling Evolution.
